The Thief

Have you seen the thief
Standing at the gate?
His eyes are pale,
He’s prepared to wait.
A moment in time
Could seal your fate
For all eternity.

Well, his face is fair and he looks so fine,
Perhaps he could be a friend of mine.
There’s mystery in his eyes and mischief in his grin,
I think I might like him.

The shadows lengthen,
The night sky falls.
He climbs within
The garden walls.
He spots his prey
And softly calls,
“Come taste eternity.”

Well, his face is fair and he looks so fine,
Perhaps he could be a friend of mine.
There’s mystery in his eyes and mischief in his grin,
I think I might like him.

O straggling sheep,
Listen to my voice.
He is the thief
His every ploy
Is to steal, kill, destroy.

Well, his face is fair and he looks so fine,
Have you eyes to see or are you blind?
There’s mystery in his eyes and mischief in his grin,
He’s a wolf in sheepskin.

River of Love

If your life is a desert, parched and dry:
If your heart is cracked like the river’s run dry;
Drink from the Spirit, water your soul;
Your life is a chalice, let the river flow.

Sing praises to your God and King;
Shout grace to the mountain tumbling down;
On the crumbling walls of Jericho,
At the trumpet sound, let the river flow.

It’s a river of love; it’s a river of peace;
It’s a river of blood sets the captives free;
It’s a river, you’re the cup; drink it in and pour it out;
It’s a river of love; let the river flow.

Sing praises to your God and King;
Shout grace to the mountain tumbling down;
On the crumbling walls of Jericho,
At the trumpet sound, let the river flow.

It’s a river of love; it’s a river of peace;
It’s a river of blood sets the captives free;
It’s a river, you’re the cup; drink it in and pour it out;
It’s a river of love; let the river flow.

If your life is a desert, parched and dry:
If your heart is cracked like the river’s run dry;
Drink from the Spirit, water your soul;
Your life is a chalice, let the river flow.

It’s a river of love; it’s a river of peace;
It’s a river of blood sets the captives free;
It’s a river, you’re the cup; drink it in and pour it out;
It’s a river of love; let the river flow.

Come To Me

Come to me; oh come to me.
There’s a Sunday morning rain a-threatening.
When these tear drops start to fall, there’s no one I can call,
So come to me; oh come to me.

I will sing You a love song, put on a pot of tea.
I will light the fire, if You’ll only come to me.
I will lay in Your arms, and hang on every word.
Oh why’s it so absurd to think that You might come to me.
O come to me.

I am leaving Los Angeles behind;
Driving North to see what I can find.
In the yellow roadside flowers and rolling hills of velvet,
Like newborn puppies sleeping in the sun.
You come to me.

In the layers of rock and stone,
By the pelting rains and ripping winds exposed,
As stripes on the hillside like those on Calvary,
You come to me; You come to me.

I turn off the beaten track.
Down a mud wash I walk, trailing rabbits and a startled
Sparrow hawk; although they flee from me,
Lord Jesus, You come to me.

As the Son who shed His blood on Calvary,
You wash this muddy Sunday off of me.
You come to me.

As the Son who shed His blood on Calvary,
You wash this muddy Sunday off of me.

Whatever I Do

May my words fall as a gentle rain,
Soothing the sorrow and easing the pain
Of those in lonely desert places.
Whatever I say to these, has also been said to me.

So, may my arms reach like the incoming tide,
Lifting those left high and dry
And rocking gently to a sea lullaby,
For whatever I do to these, has also been done to me.

And all have dragged a cross towards Calvary;
All have nailed a nail into that tree
And all that I say to these, has also been said to me.

So, may my words fall as a gentle rain,
Soothing the sorrow and easing the pain
Of those in lonely desert places.
Whatever I say to these, has also been said to me.

Christ has carried our cross to Calvary;
Christ has taken each nail, nailed to that tree
And Christ has said, “Whatsoever you do
To the least of My brothers, that, you do unto Me.”

So, may my arms reach like the incoming tide,
Lifting those left high and dry
And rocking gently to a sea lullaby,
For whatever I do to these, has also been done to me.

And Christ has carried my cross to Calvary;
Christ has taken each nail, nailed to that tree
And Christ has said whatsoever I do
To the least of my brothers, that, I do unto Him.

May I lighten the load on the road to Calvary,
Draw out a nail, nailed into that tree,
And whatever I do to the least of my brothers,
That, may I do unto Thee.

That, may I do unto Thee.

Leaving Home

This is my home; the place where I belong.
The first tiny tendril has grown to be a deeper, spreading, tangled , gnarled root.
How can I leave my home?

Let the winds blow and set you free,
A holy spirit wind of Me.
Let the fire brightly burn,
A refining fire of Me.
Let the river overflow,
A mighty cleansing stream of Me.
All aboard, all aboard, come follow Me.

This is my home; the place where I am known,
Every friend and every foe; every hill and every hollow,
Whichever way the wind does blow,
This is my home.

Let the winds blow and set you free,
A holy spirit wind of Me.
Let the fire brightly burn,
A refining fire of Me.
Let the river overflow,
A mighty cleansing stream of Me.
All aboard, all aboard, come follow Me.

This is my home; the place wher I feel comfortable.
On my bed a quilt of patchwork, fashioned with the memories of my past.
How can I leave my home?

Let the winds blow and set you free,
A holy spirit wind of Me.
Let the fire brightly burn,
A refining fire of Me.
Let the river overflow,
A mighty cleansing stream of Me.
All aboard, all aboard, come follow Me.

To the buried root say, "He is risen."
To friend and foe say, "We're forgiven."
To the past say, "The future beckons."
Come follow Me.
